A mix of old and new.

Exploring a new partnership with Naav Organics, helmed by thought-leader in the manufacturing industry in India, Avneet, and her team of skilled artisans. We selected two upcycled fabrics for our first make together - a beautiful and bold ikat, and a light handloom woven pink striped fabric. The pieces with embroidery are special - each artisan was given full artistic license to practice their growing embroidery skills, each one truly their own and a lot of fun.

Continuing the making with my favourite pair of creative sisters who make up Akané based out of Mumbai, we explored new and seasonal natural dye (made mostly from leftover temple flowers and root dyes) in co-creating new silky frilly beauties. Especially of note is my favourite indigo dye, of which truly takes on a whole new level of patience as the process includes fermentation, which calls for just right conditions of season and temperature to achieve the absolute perfect shade.
